  • C.A.S.E. (Community Alliance to Support and Empower)

    This locally organized and operated agency helps El Segundo residents who are facing financial difficulties and need some assistance. Our church supplies volunteers and donations to the C.A.S.E. food pantry, which is open to families twice a month.

  • Family Promise of the South Bay

    This non-profit helps homeless families achieve achieve housing stability by providing short-term housing, meals, case management, and hospitality. They also work to prevent homelessness by providing landlord mediation, rental and utility assistance, and life coaching. As part of a network of faith organizations in the South Bay, our church houses families in our facility, for a week at a time, once a quarter, providing the necessities of life so that families can focus on getting back on their feet and into their own homes.

  • Rise Against Hunger

    The ultimate goal of this non-profit organization is to end world hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives, and responding to emergencies. Once a year, our church hosts a food packaging event, bringing together other churches and community organizations to package 10,000 vegetable-based meals in two hours. The meals are then shipped and distributed to schools. orphanages, clinics, or vocational centers around the globe.

  • Shared Bread, First United Methodist Church, Redondo Beach

    This church provides a hot meal to those in need every Wednesday, year round. A crew from our church prepares the main dish for the first Wednesday of the month. We also support this mission with donations, financial and otherwise.

  • Toberman Neighborhood Center

    Located in San Pedro, CA, Toberman’s goal is to build a healthy, vibrant community through addressing the challenges that prevent youth and families from reaching their full potential. Among other things, they provide afterschool programs, adult education, a food pantry and thrift store, counseling, and gang intervention and prevention programs. Our church supports Toberman with financial and material donations.

  • UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief)

    UMCOR is the humanitarian relief and development arm of the United Methodist Church. It comes alongside those who suffer from natural or human-made disasters to alleviate suffering and be a source of help and hope for those who are left vulnerable. They provide relief, response and long-term recovery grants to communities, as well as technical support and training for community partners. Our church raises funds in support UMCOR’s work several times a year.

  • United Methodist Missionaries

    Our church has a long history of supporting missionaries around the world. We currently support Katherine Parker, a California-Pacific Missionary who serves in Nepal as a water sanitation and hygiene advisor as part of the health team that partners with local agencies to implement programs in water hygiene, sanitation, and nutrition. Our United Methodist Women also support a missionary, Dr. Lestor Dornon, who serves as senior physician at Tansen Hospital, also in Nepal.

  • United Methodist Women

    UMW is the largest denominational faith organization for women, with some 800,000 members around the world. Our local unit supports a number of local and global missions, including Toberman Neighborhood Center in San Pedro, David and Margaret Home in LaVerne, the Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, to name a few.

  • Monthly Mission Specials

    Each month, our church offers its members and friends the opportunities to do “second-mile giving” in support a project or organization that helps people in need. Last year’s recipients of Mission Special funds included Family Promise of the South Bay, C.A.S.E., Shared Bread, UMCOR, Union Rescue Mission, Doctors Without Borders, the Los Angeles Mission, AIDS Walk, na L.A., and Toberman Neighborhood Center. In addition, our Mission Specials support the six Special Sundays of the United Methodist Church, which help a variety of causes.
